Ports of
Genoa keeps working to establish the new
inner port road network for the transit of trucks going to the Sampierdarena
quays. Tomorrow, August 30th, further inspections of the technicians (AdSP of
the Western Ligurian Sea, Harbor Master, Municipality of Genoa) will take place
for the definition of the new route dedicated to goods.
To
summarize the plan: the new network consists in the construction of an internal
road though ILVA steel works, connected with Genoa Airport motorway junction;
the creation of an area, on the Polcevera river’s right bank, contiguous to the
San Giovanni d’Acri roundabout, for parking trucks waiting for the operations
at the terminals; the arrangement of a road on the right bank of the Polcevera
river, within the Società per Cornigliano’s area, in order to have a direct
connection between Bolzaneto motorway junction and Cornigliano area; the urgent
construction of a second bridge on the Polcevera river to improve the access to
the port areas.
The new
practicability would consider two stages: doubling the current bridge with a
temporary work on the South side of the existing bridge built by the Army
Engineers and a permanent work, on the North side of the temporary bridge
(Fincantieri Construction).
